wtv file playback problem
#1
Hi

I could use a little help on this.... I have a .wtv file that will play in windows media player but NOT xbmc. The file was recorded in Media Center and then the file name was changed and nfo file done by MCE Buddy. Before the file is processed in MCE Buddy it plays fine in XBMC. So MCE is doing something to the file XBMC doesn't like,

Any idea what could be causing this?
Thanks

I've been told by the maker of MCE Buddy that the problem is with xbmc and ffmpeg. Please see post below and link to his site. Is this something that is easy to change? Maybe before the final 12.0 release?

His Post:
I've replicated the issue, It would be better if you reported this to XBMC, they appear to be using ffmpeg which until recently had limited support for wtv formats. They should update the library to the Dec 20th or later build and I think the problem will go away.

Okay I've confirmed this is an XBMC issue, they are using an outdated version of ffmpeg which isn't able to process the file properly. Please report this isue to them, they need to update their libraries.
