everytime i download a movie from xbmc to my laptop when i open it up nothing happens am i missing an addon or is my player the wrong one

XBMC is the player, not sure how your downloading but it sounds like you stream videos (and nothing is happening) which in that case you're best of looking into the streaming add-on threads.
