I am wanting to watch a feed but have no idea on the implementation.
I usually watch it through one of the unspoken media portals, sometimes it doesn't work but if i can watch it through a Media Player i'd be happier.

I suppose what i really need info on is how to set something up with XBMC to watch live TV rtmp streams without the need for a PVR as i have no need for a recorder (maybe i do and that's how it works) but that's how i see it.

What you're looking for is help with streaming video, not PVR (wiki) support, which requires a backend system with a TV tuner card. I'm moving this thread to a more appropriate forum. As for your "unspoken media portal", we do not provide any support for accessing piracy sites, so it's not surprising you'd be "overwhelmed by the help".
