when i go on holiday i have no internet connection and i was wondering is there any way i can watch movies off xbmc without internet or do i have to download them somewhere else to watch

Well, if the content isn't available on-line (no Internet connectivity), then it has to be available locally... such as the hard disk of your XBMC system.
