As the title says, I'm looking for an XBMC based box that must replace a Boxee Box in order to watch Live-TV in combination with a VU+ Solo 2 satbox.
All my movies/tv shows are on a WHS2011 server and all do play without any problems on the Boxee Box (yes, I do own a Boxee Box that works without problems )
Based on that fact, I assume that a Zacate based box is enough, both performance wise as movie support wise. If it also works nice with a VU+ box is unknown to me.
What also plays an important role is that the Zacate platform is a fairly cheap solution (Stuff between () I already have):
- Streacom F1C Evo Black , €75
- ASRock AMD A50M E350M1, €60
- 60/90W PicoPSU + Adapter, €60
- (Inteset CIR for ASRock --> hence the ASRock mobo)
- (2/4GB RAM)
- (60GB Vertex SSD)
- (Windows 7)
..meaning for just less than €200 I would be ready.
The question is however if this is indeed a 100% guaranteed working solution, including the VU+ Live-TV functionality, or should I look for a more expensive solution like an ASRock B75M-ITX (€75) + G550 (€40) or even an i3 3225 (€115) ?.
