there is that big problem with adding to the video library. can it act like iTunes 10.7. you browse for files then the option that says add to library. i'm just saying it should ALWAYS be available.

You already can do this. When browsing in file mode, select Info (I). If the file hasn't already been added to the library, it will be scraped and added.

That will work if it gets picked up by the scraper. I do think it would be good to have a manual add-to-library option of some kind again (we used to have one).

Ned Scott is right, XBMC should have a method to add a file (or folder) to library using the filename and the mediainfo metadata as argument. (It would be even more useful if it could pick up custom data, presumably content-related metadata, supplied in a same-name xml.)
