Dvds dont play if explorer.exe is turned off.

i use game booster to start xbmc and i have explorer.exe as one of the processes to kill, but when explorer.exe is off, and then i put a dvd in my laptop xbmc acts like nothing is there, but when explorer.exe is on, dvds startup automaticlly like i want them to, can anyone explain why this happens and how i can fix it?

get a newer build (assuming you're using Eden or something in between which I can't see because you didn't write it nor posted a log file). Earlier build work with the event WM_MEDIA_CHANGE which needs explorer.exe to be started. Frodo can work around it for usb and optical medias.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
