No audio through HDMI
#1
Hey there. I'm running Eden (11.0, compiled 3/21/12) on Win7 64-bit SP1 build 7601. My PC is sending HDMI out. The sound works fine elsewhere in Windows, but not in XBMC. Sometimes it says "failed to initiate audio device." The motherboard is ASRock A75M-ITX. I've tried every combination of Audio Output settings I could find, to no avail. Next step?

BTW: I'm running debug, but I can't even find my gorram AppData folder. I hope I can be allowed to live.

Oh, one more piece of pertinent info: This is specifically while I'm trying to watch MKVs. I see a DTS and a 5.1 logo, but there's no audio. When I'm watching, say a YouTube video, things are fine.
... and I've just confirmed that the same thing happens when I try to watch directly from a DVD: Dolby Digital logo, 5.1, no sound.

I'm in the exact same boat as you. Same motherboard and everything. I'm bumping this in the hopes that someone sees this and helps us out.

See http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=146911

Make sure AVR is on before XBMC is launched
Check Exclusive mode settings in Windows
Check Supported Formats in Windows
Try setting to Audio Ouput = Analog & Audio output device = Directsound
Post debug log showing you trying to play a file
