Win Brightness Issue During Playback
#1
I am getting an intermittent brightness issue with some files. During certain scenes, the brightness/contrast levels of the image starts changing and the screen gets brighter and darker. It's very annoying. I have ruled out the files (as they work in VLC under Windows), the TV (same reason, although I've also turned off every power save setting to be sure) and have tried most XBMC video settings combinations (including making sure my NVIDIA control panel is set to use XBMC settings - either way doesn't make a difference).

The only thing that fixes it is turning on Debugging. Can anyone suggest:

1) A solution to this problem other than having to wipe windows and do an XBMCbuntu install (I'm quite enjoying having Windows in my bedroom)?
2) Why enabling debugging would miraculously fix the issue?
3) Could I keep debugging on permanently and if so, can I hide the writing from the screen?

An advice appreciated.

(Running XBMC Eden on an Acer Aspire R3700 with Windows 7, using an NVIDIA graphics card - somehow the source of the problem I think).
EDIT: Just realised that it's also possibly doing it through VLC so now i'm lost.
