Subtitles make video stutter - update?
#1
so there have been threads about how subtitles start to make the video stutter (i believe this happens on almost all platforms, but since I use the Pi, I am posting here)

I have found out that after removing the shadow from the subs and reducing their size (i must remux the video), the video no longer slows down. It would seem that xbmc doesnt handle subtitles very well.
Is there any official word that it IS xbmc causing the issue?
If so, is there a fix soon?

just use external subs like .txt or .srt instead of those subs injected into files and u be fine
not a fix but workaround

That's not really a realistic solution.

well, i also posted a workaround on how to re-mux those subs too, which is why I posted this thread. I dont want a work around if its not needed. I am also curious if anyone was working on a real fix
