Do both computers need to be on to sync the libraries? I don't like to leave them on all of the time.

Yes, but I don't know of any off hand that also share metadata in the way XBMC does. Eventually there might be a headless XBMC that can run on a NAS, maybe.

That would be great. Or if meta-data could be stored within the files themselves. Similar to how artwork is associated with a particular file.
I'm curious if they only have to be on concurrently to update once or do they need to be on the same time all of the time.
Example:
My HTPC downloads a bunch of art and file info (which is stored with the files on the NAS).
I turn on my ATV in my bedroom and get the same info.
I watch 2 episodes on my HTPC
I turn off my HTPC
On my ATV it shows 2 are watched?
If I watch 2 more when will the HTPC show that now 4 are watched?

With a UPnP server you would need it on even to view the video file, not just the metadata.

Cool, makes sense. More will be revealed upon the release, I'm sure.
Thanks,

Well, it's the same basic feature that XBMC has had for a few versions now, but improved.
