Clone and Upgrade a HDD?
#1
This is gonna be hard to describe so in advance, i'm sorry for any headaches caused.

My HTPC has a 500GB hdd split into 2 partitions, right?

I would like to replace it with a 1TB drive.

Can I put both drives into my computer and then clone the 500gb one onto the 1tb one and it still have both partitons?

Many thanks!

*HTPC runs XBMCLive, PC is windows.

You could use something like 'dd' in your Linux PC to do this.

Just don't mixup source, destination and you should be able to clone whole drive.

If I helped out pls give me a +

A bunch of XBMC instances, big-ass screen in the basement + a 20TB FreeBSD, ZFS server.
