lartomar / anyone,
is this quad core (the GK802+RC11) an example of what people have been waiting for? I've heard a few folk on this forum say they were not going to purchase until the quad core boxes were released.
if this is actually a proper quad core then how come the specs only say 1.2Ghz? the atv1200 i just bought is only dual code and it's 1.6Ghz.

the number of cores has nothing to do with the CPU clock, why should it ?

quad core - means it has 4 cpu cores each running 1.2ghz. DualCore - only 2 cpu cores. I leave the math up to you.

I have a Minix Neo X5 and it's been impressive so for with the libstagefright builds. There are some 1080p MKVs that it doesn't seem to like. I can't seem to get Live TV working (from mediaportal server) without it crashing and the addons don't seem to use the hardware acceleration but in spite of all that I'm still very hopeful that these issues will be ironed out as time goes on. The Neo X5 uses a Mali400 quad core for GPU and a Rockchip 3066 dual core for CPU. The CPU/GPU are very close (if not exactly the same) as what comes with the Pivos XIOS box. With the Neo X5 you do get 16GB of storage, so that's a plus.
Seems there is a linux build for the Pivos XIOS now that works great with XBMC on there so here's hoping we'll see a linux build as well as full android support on the X5 too
