I just gave my old HTPC to my parents and I am having some issues.
Plugged into my Samsung TV with the audio configured properly (HTPC -> HDMI - TV -> Optical - Reciever) everything works perfectly.
However when I moved it to my parents Samsung TV connected like (HTPC -> HDMI - tv -> Optical - Speaker Bar) there is no sound. I have tried every different combination, on my old TV just selecting Optical in settings would work fine. Nothing I try works on the new TV. I have tried all different codecs DTS, etc. Even tried music (Mp3, m4a, flac) and nothing works.
Now when XBMC is closed the computer can play sound on its own, the startup sounds, the testing sounds, and a mp3.
I have uploaded the log here, if that matters at all.
