I have now heard that avc1.77.30 codec is not supported i hardware. I guess avc1.77.30 codec will never work on my rasp pi then?!

Well, seems to work for me on the raspberry pi if i have cached some data of the video stream. see this: https://github.com/nilzen/xbmc-svtplay/issues/58
Not sure why xbmc wont cache the video when streaming the .m3u8 files, since it works with single segments within the m3u8 "playlist" file.
When i play single segments or dump the stream to harddrive with ffmpeg and then play it in xbmc on the raspberry pi playback is smooth.

The avc1.77.30 (H264 level 3) should work fine on the RPi as the GPU license support at least level 4.1 (higher hardware levels are available), check thread post #199: "SVT Play (Plugin) Video Addon - Sveriges Television (Swedish TV)"

1. XBMC: http://github.com/FlyingRat/xbmc (ffmpeg-head-inc-xbmc-patches)
2. FFmpeg: http://github.com/FlyingRat/FFmpeg (ffmpeg-head-with-xbmc-custom-patches)
3. XBMC-updated-FFmpeg-binaries (just dev snapshots, no regular distros)
