Updating library gives wrong dates to some movies.
#1
What is happening here, and why? Most importantly: how can I fix it?

As you can see below, the top three movies were added today, February 1st 2013. The problem is: so were the ones marked by the arrows! Where do these random dates come from? This messes up my 'Recently Added Movies, which is where I discovered this behaviour. Any insights or help??

Frodo changed the default date use for "Recently added" from the library-add date to the file date; however, you can change that back to the file-add date via advancedsettings.xml (wiki). See here in the Frodo FAQ for details: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=XBM...odo%29_FAQ (in particular, section 8.5)

Coolness! I thank you, good sir.

Had I known an update like this would require so much additional reading up, I would've thought twice about it... :S

One way to avoid some of the "shock and awe" that may come with upgrading to a new release is try out the betas and release candidates in "Live" or portable mode so you can play around and get familiar with it before committing your production XBMC installation to it. The added benefit is that your early testing gives you the opportunity to provide valuable feedback to the development team. Smile

Yeah, I used to be all over weekly T3CH-releases back in the Xbox era. Nowadays there's just too much real life interfering to keep myself up-to-date... Angry
