Extremely low framerate while playing video in Frodo
#1
It seems in the transition from Eden to Frodo something went wrong. I'm currently using the final release of Frodo and every time I try to play a video, the framerate drops from an average of 60fps to 4-8fps. Is there anything I can do to remedy this?

Specs:
AMD A10-5800K APU @ 3.8Ghz
EVGA Nvidia GTX 660ti 2GB
16GB GSkill Ripjaws DDR3 1600 RAM
4x SATA 7200rpm HDDs
900w Cooler Master power supply

If you connected your HTPC to AVR, you need to configure XBMC audio output similar to my screen shot below-

If you connected your HTPC directly to a monitor or HDTV, you need to configure XBMC audio output similar to my screen shot below-

I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

Use the settings in the second picture above.
System: XBMC HTPC with HDMI WASAPI & AudioEngine - Denon  AVR-3808CI  - Denon DVD-5900 Universal Player  - Denon DCM-27 CD-Changer
- Sony BDP-S580 Blu-Ray  - X-Box 360  - Android tablet wireless remote - 7.1 Streem/Axiom/Velodyne Surround System
If I have been able to help feel free to add to my reputation +/- below - thanks!

If you connected your HTPC to Bose using optical cable, you can configure it as below. Otherwise, configure as analog above....

I'm only using the basic 3.5mm headphone jack. It's a pretty simple setup.

These are the speakers I'm using:

I also took some screenshots:

I believe I figured out the problem! I altered many of the settings to see if that would help. At first it didn't do anything, but after I restarted XBMC, all videos were playing at their full framerate!

Try altering the settings to match this:

Here's a screenshot of The Campaign (Fantastic movie by the way) running at 48fps after the new settings:

That fall into analog in the second photo of the second post....

That is still considered as optical audio output in XBMC. You can select optical, set the correct speaker config, select the appropriate capable receiver options and SPDIF as audio output device....
