I think if the user wants to hide some items is because he wants to replace them with custom items
The idea is too keep the home menu always with 12 items.

This looks fantastic! I really like the colored version.
It just looks fresh
With the use of skin.widgets it looks much more 'interactive', the old version was just a tiled homescreen, this version has different types of information all at once, without looking cluttered. This makes it more interesting!
