Win LED control on motherboards?
#1
Hey guys, just bought a motherboard for my HTPC but have run into a hiccup.
I've bought the Gigabyte GA-H77M-D3H mATX as I was told you can control which LEDs
turn off with the system (I have the Lian Li PC-C37 and the LED is too bright to stay on).
The only thing is I want to be able to turn off my system via remote and assume I need a CIR header for this aswell?

I know they usually list CIR header in the motherboard specs, how do you tell if the motherboard has LED control?

On pg. 26 of the manual:

MSG/PWR (Message/Power/Sleep LED, Yellow/Purple):
Connects to the power status indicator on the chassis front panel. The LED is on when the system is operating. The LED is off when the system is in S3/S4 sleep state or powered off (S5).

The only time the power LED should be on is when the PC is on. Otherwise, it should be off.
