By default xbmc skip by some amount of time when I press left/right arrow. It's this time somewhat modifiable?
On dreambox I can use numeric keys to skip with 3 different speed and I like it.

Using the advanced settings you can configure how many seconds to jump forward and back. That will give you two options. You can also go by percentage as well.

Thank you both. Now is the question how to execute long skip? For example from keyboard?

Are you joking? The link provided answers that question as well. By default left/ right are short skips and up/down are long. This is keyboard and remote behavior. Please read the wiki link provided, it has all this info.
