i am not able to open zip file for sports devil or quite a few other addon with the frodo 12 , using windows and filezilla , no errors just will not install

Are you using the "Install from zip file" option in the XBMC add-on manager or are you just unzipping them manually?

You won't see any messages such as the progress bar when installing an add-on from a repository. Did you check your list of "Enabled Add-ons" to see if they are there?
