artist info screen
#1
Hi all.
When i´m listening to music and hit the "stop" button, the music continues and an artist information screen is displayed. If i hit "back" or "esc" on that screen, playing stops then.

This is driving me crazy. I´d like to get rid of this silly info screen but can´t find the setting related to.

can anybody help pls?

I do, but when I hit stop, it stops...

Same here. Hitting stop (keyboard "x" or remote control Stop button) ceases music playback. What are you using for the "Stop" button? And do you have that button remap to perform some other function (such as Info)?

I tried the virtual "Stop" button on both the mini-OSD and the full screen virtualization and they both stopped music playback.

The only thing I can suggest now is for you to upload a debug log (wiki) to www.xbmclogs.com that shows you clicking the "Stop" button during music playback. Post the assigned URL for your uploaded log here.

Which skin are you using? Which skin version? Have you tried with the default Confluence skin to see if it behaves correctly?

This is what your log shows when you click the left mouse button, presumably on the virtual "Stop" button on the OSD. It's trying to open window ID 1112:
Code:
14:38:46 T:5268   DEBUG: CApplication::ProcessMouse: trying mouse action leftclick
14:38:46 T:5268   DEBUG: CApplication::ExecuteXBMCAction : Translating down
14:38:46 T:5268   DEBUG: CApplication::ExecuteXBMCAction : To down
14:38:46 T:5268   DEBUG: CApplication::ExecuteXBMCAction : Translating ActivateWindow(1112)
14:38:46 T:5268   DEBUG: CApplication::ExecuteXBMCAction : To ActivateWindow(1112)
14:38:46 T:5268   DEBUG: Activating window ID: 11112
14:38:46 T:5268   DEBUG: ------ Window Init (custom_1112_Artistinfo.xml) ------
14:38:46 T:5268   ERROR: Control 201 in window 11112 has been asked to focus, but it can't
This is what my log shows when I click the left mouse button on the OSD "Stop" button. It sends the command to stop playback, as expected:
Code:
16:09:53 T:3077433088   DEBUG: ProcessMouse: trying mouse action leftclick
16:09:53 T:3077433088   DEBUG: ExecuteXBMCAction : Translating PlayerControl(Stop)
16:09:53 T:3077433088   DEBUG: ExecuteXBMCAction : To PlayerControl(Stop)
16:09:53 T:3077433088   DEBUG: CAnnouncementManager - Announcement: OnStop from xbmc
16:09:53 T:3077433088   DEBUG: GOT ANNOUNCEMENT, type: 1, from xbmc, message OnStop
16:09:53 T:3077433088   DEBUG: CGUIWindowManager::PreviousWindow: Deactivate
16:09:53 T:3077433088   DEBUG: ------ Window Deinit (MusicOSD.xml) ------

Do you have a modified mouse.xml file? Are you using something like EventGhost to remap your mouse behavior?

using the confluence skin, the problem is gone.
hitting the stop button on the remote or "x" on the keyboard also works as expected...only the virtual osd stop button shows this behavior.
i haven´t remapped any buttons and i´m using the stable aeon nox 4.0.9 installed from repo the day when frodo went final..
think i´ll have to reinstall from scratch...maybe this startet when i was updating frodo from rc3 to final ?!

This happens on my setup too. Stopping the currently played mp3 with the mouse makes the artist information screen appear. Once I click escape, it closes the screen and then stops the mp3. Am on Aeon Nox 4.0 Frodo.
It hasn't been a problem really I've kinda got used to it, but thought I'd message in case it might help diagnose the problem. I can post logs if required.

thanks for replying...
maybe this was a small issue with aeon nox 4.0.9, and was quietly fixed ...?
since it´s not a big problem, let´s wait for an official update from the aeon nox team..
