I use my android tv box to stream movies to my projector in my home theater ans i wanted to use steam to also play games on it but i guess i will have to buy a steam link.

You have the steam app installed and it runs ok outside of kodi? If yes, then enable the debug log (wiki) in kodi, attempt to run the addon, in the log file search for script.steam.launcher: attempting to launch: and run that command in a termnal app. BTW, the android app (atleast last time i tried) didnt run any games, and was only a thin steam client where you could chat, browse the store and some other things. If you want to stream games I think you need something called moonlight or limelight.

There is an Android steam app but it doesn't stream any games, just lets you see your purchases and junk. You need to install moonlight and configure gamestream on your gaming box to launch the steam shortcut as a game. I've done it this way before with very good success. Of course if you have an AMD GPU you have to look elsewhere

Try running Steam in desktop mode via the pre-steam script. Then in the addon setttings point the setting for the steam executable to a empty batch file or /bin/false.

Just installed and configured Kodi then came across this addon, Great work! Would love to have something like this for GOG's client. How hard you think would it be to adapt your addon for gog? If you point me in the direction of where to look in your code I can take a look at it as I am a software dev.

It really depends on the program you're launching and how far you want to take the add-on - you can launch a application from kodi with 2 lines of Python. A link to the source on github is in the first post.

No it's not in the official repo. Reason is that it contains a executable (a pre compiled ahk script, done so for ease of use) and that isn't allowed in the official repo.

Running Kodibuntu on my laptop. Tried following the guide at the top of page 44 but when i try to launch the steam add on from kodi it gives me a error and points me to this log. Any ideas?
