Hello,

I'm trying to allow xmbc on my appletv to see the TV/movies folders on my win 8 pc. smb on the appletv keeps asking for a username pass and when I type it in nothing happens. I'm signed in to win 8 with my live ID and that's the user/pass i'm using in xmbc.

The two hardrives and sub folders are shared with "everyone", password protected sharing is off... appletv/xmbc is set to "allow" under media streaming options in network & sharing center.

Not sure what else to do. I only have one account on this PC and its set to admin.

Every setting I wrote above comes from a search on the web and this forum but i'm still stuck.

Any advice?

Figured it out... had to also change the security settings under properties to allow "everyone" Hope someone finds this useful.
