actually i am interested in working on xmbc for gsoc,and i am new here so please suggest some ideas on how to start developing,contributing and becomin part of gsoc.

please do include all the prerequisites i need to learn to contribute.

i would also like to be part of GSoC in 2103...im hoping i can learn to code some time in the next 90 years.

I imagine 90 years is hardly any time for a vampire. Better get moving!

siddrtm, your best bet is to start by showing off your coding skills. Branch off the main github. Take a look at the current trac bugs, and see what you an fix.

Alternatively, you could just try starting to code something into your branch of XBMC that you'd think would be useful. Showing early code for a feature-set you think would be cool would be very useful in making a GSOC selection decision. Of course, we still have to be accepted for GSOC 2013 (as well as 2103), so we've got to do our part first, I suppose.
