Why xbmc and not nextpvr client ?
#1
Hi ...
I've been looking into XBMC for a while now and am trying to figure one thing out ..
I currently use WMC and am looking to change to NPVR in order to run a remote client into the live tv server.
For someone that simply wants to watch TV with an EPG and maybe the occasional movie on the NPVR server machine ... what does XBMC give me that the NPVR client does not ... ?
Thanks

There's not much xbmc client does that the native npvr client does functionally - but that's only true for Windows. Xbmc client functionality brings the npvr backend to anything that runs xbmc - linux, android, iOS etc - that's the reason it is powerful. It obviously has many more features for media and streaming content than a standalone dvr client like NexPVR, but if that doesn't interest you, and you have a capable windows machine to use as a client, then go for it.
