FTP Access via 3G Network
#1
Hello!

I have an iPhone 4 with iOS 6.1.2. I am accessing my external drive which is connected to an Asus RT-56U routher via FTP. I can browse the HDD when i am connected to the home Wi-Fi network but as soon as i am changing to 3G network i receive the following message:
"Network is not connected"

I want to reach my data when i am not at home. Any advices?

Thanks in advance!

Google "port forwarding"

You need to be able to access the FTP site over the internet to do that. So you need to
1) know the external ip.
2) forward a port (on your external ip address) to the correct port on your ftp server (in your internal network). You can do this in many routers.
