I have curious problem with Frodo Windows 8. Any video file with DTS HD audio in it, XBMC tries to play Video, but keeps skipping back to the first frame every second. And of course no audio to my TV using my HDMI.
I turned off DTS in System-->Audio. No dice. VLC Player plays video / audio fine over my network. So its definitely internal to XBMC. Thinking I need to get XBMC to see some codecs on my machine, but how?
I'm using Windows 8. And even built in Video app will not play the video. Again, VLC does though. So maybe VLC has codec built in but not "public" to other applications and maybe I need to install some codecs?
