A refresh of the Trinity lineup is coming with desktop APUs supposedly debuting on March 19th. It feels like Trinity was just released.

APU Lineup:
• A10-6800K Radeon HD 8670D 844 MHz/ Quad Core 100W, 4.1 GHz/4.4 GHz
• A8-6600K Radeon HD 8570D 844 MHz/ Quad Core 100W, 3.9 GHz/4.2 GHz
• A10-6700 Radeon HD 8670D 844 MHz/ Quad Core 65W, 3.7 GHz/4.3 GHz
• A8-6500 Radeon HD 8570D 800 MHz/ Quad Core 65W, 3.5 GHz/4.1 GHz
• A6-6400K Radeon HD 8470D 800 MHz/ Dual Core 65W, 3.9 GHz/4.1 GHz
• A4-6300 Radeon HD 8370D 760 MHz/ Dual Core 65W, 3.7 GHz/3.9 GHz

The big new feature is a new integrated GPU, AMD’s HD 8000 series graphics based on the ‘Southern Island’ GCN architecture. There is also a new A88X chipset coming as well. The new APUs are FM2 compatible.

Here's hoping for better power consumption/heat management and some new mini-ITX motherboards from Gigabyte and ASUS.

Trinity's successor "Kaveri", the third-generation A-series, is slated for the end of 2013. It also looks like some new mobile A-series and E-series releases coming May.

I'm also interested in the new Kabini CPU's:

The A6-5200 (wth is AMD doing with all those numbers Huh) looks like a great CPU for a low-power build.

It'd be nice to see that in a mini-ITX motherboard. I haven't see any mainstream E2-1800 motherboards yet though. Sapphire announced one but I've never seen it at Newegg, Amazon, et.al.

Can't wait to see how these work out for xBMC builds.

AFAICT, it's basically Trinity with some CPU clock changes and a new GPU Huh. If they've done anything to deal with the heat/power consumption it should be great. Of course, A6-3500 is still more than enough. What we really need is good AMD Linux drivers!!!

Pretty sure that A6-5200 Kabini board, if it comes out, would be my dream come true as long as it doesn't have one of those silly 40mm CPU cooler fans on it Smile.

Now if only they could sort out their multichannel hd audio drivers under Linux then we'd be laughing....

The Register Reports

"AMD did not provide details in its Tuesday release about pricing for its new APUs – which, by the way, are all 35-watt parts"

It will be interesting to see benchmarks
