Win Playback hangs on black screen when DXVA2 enabled
#1
Hi All

Today xbmc has started hanging when playing back video - it doesn't seem to make any difference what format, the screen blacks out after 10-30 seconds of playback. The hang occurs on a different frame each time.

I am running an AMD HD 6000 card with the latest drivers installed, and the current version of xbmc.

I'm not aware of any changes that have happened on the system recently and I can't make any sense of the error logs. The prime culprit seems to be a D3DERR_DEVICEHUNG error. I get a system tray message saying the graphics driver had to be restarted, but playback doesn't resume and xbmc has to be killed.

This is a typical debug log:

Quick bump... I have installed the nightly build and xbmc now hangs straight away when playing any hd (mkv) content.
SD stuff and DVD images work fine. HD works if I turn off DXVA2 hardware acceleration.
I've also changed to the latest beta catalyst drivers with no effect.
Would this be an xbmc issue or a catalyst issue? Has anyone else seen this?
