Reccomendations and advice on a Sub-£500 build
#1
Hi, everyone.
I recently became interested in building a HTPC, I have done research, and came up with the following plan. But, I am looking for recommendations and advice on reducing the cost and improving the quality of my chosen components. (Take into account that I'm from the UK, therefore some components are not as available or affordable as they would be in the US. As well as this, I am looking for energy efficiency over noise level, as I will be using headphones.)

Budget;
Sub-£500 (Sub-$750)

Function, in order of importance;
1. Playback of DVD's and Blu-Ray's
2. Playback of loseless audio (FLAC, WAV, ALAC etc.)
3. Streaming full HD content (Youtube, Netflix, Hulu etc.)
4. Ripping of DVD's and Blu-Ray's
5. Web browsing
6. Gaming

Components;
CPU; AMD A8-5500
CPU Cooler; Scythe Big Shuriken 2 Rev. B
Motherboard; AsRock FM2A75 Pro4-M
Memory; G.Skill Ripjaws X Series Blue 4GB
Storage; Crucial M4 128GB SSD and Western Digital Red 3TB HDD
Video Card; Radeon HD 7560D (Integrated)
Case; Silverstone Grandia GD05
Power Supply; Seasonic S12II-380
Optical Drive; Undecided

You've done your homework well, that'll do everything quite nicely though for gaming, what kind of gaming are you thinking? You might be better off with an A10-5800K or an Intel setup with a discrete GPU for that.

I'd also wait a couple of weeks to see what the Trinity refresh called "Richland" will provide. The GPU is supposed to be quite the upgrade though the CPU stays pretty much the same.
