I updated xbmc version 12.1, but I have problems with the sound when I use the external player (MPC-HC).
The video starts normally, but the audio does not start properly. I only hear a sound from all speakers.
It is as if the sound of XBMC does not shut (I see PCM 2.1 on the AVR as when I navigate the menus of xbmc instead of the DTS 5.1 of the movie).
No problem reinstalling version 12.0

I have the same problem. If there is anything playing in XBMC, it doesn't cut the audio correctly meaning I can't get audio to the external player since I have Windows in WASAPI.

Just watched a movie in MPC-HC as external player after upgrading to XBMC 12.1 and didn't notice any problems, DD 5.1 on the receiver.

Try playing some music within xbmc then opening a video in the external and let me know if the music stops properly if you could.

Setting xbmc with WASAPI, the audio components of xbmc does not close when launch a movie with the external player.
Setting xbmc with Directsound, I can only hear sound if it is in passthrough.
Of course, the file play normally if I use MPC-HC without going through xbmc.
Something has changed between version 12.0 to 12.1.

Hi all - I can confirm that I also face this issue with 12.1

It wasn't there in 12.0 - the reason i upgraded was that 12.0 was slow to exit, which is fixed in 12.1, but now the audio is broken - think i';; stick to slow exiting for time being Smile

I saw that the Ticket # 14211 that corpgator has opened appears to be resolved.

You could try latest nightlies then.

Ticket has been reopened as corpgator has confirmed issue is still present in a nightly build.

Aw man, just noticed this problem too...
And I even held off for as long as I could, before moving to 12,1
And now I have this problem Again....
Hopefully it will be resolved quickly.

If it's a big issue for you rollback to 12.0 which doesn't have the regression.

Per
