Just having used the xbmc remote i think its wonderful. Id like to see this more like the link above, to make browsing for content so easy a 3 year old could do it.
Older people are partially sight imparied sometimes, with clunky motor skills. Makes me weep when i see some modern day remotes. I see something so good
in the xbmc remote for older people i just hope it goes down that road. Like an imitation of whats on screen, with some art, big squares etc.

Are you saying you want remote apps to be *more* like the one shown in the video? LOL, the guy struggled for quite a while before he can get his TV to turn on! If you are referring to the initial page at the beginning of the video where the various shows are displayed as tiles to make selection foolproof for young and old alike, you may want to look at the Yatse remote app, which offers such a view.
