Solved [Apple TV2] Frodo 12.1 crash on startup when ethernet connected
#1
I've downgraded my ATV2 from 5.2.1 to 4.4.2 using this method and re-installed Frodo 12.1
Now, everytime I try to start XBMC from the ATV menu, the screen turns black and nothing happens. If I then unplug the ethernet connection, about 30 seconds later XBMC starts up just fine. (If I plug the power, it doesn't reboot, but ATV's white LED starts blinking and the unit can't be booted anymore - so I have to redo the jailbreak-process.)
- Apple updates are blocked
- FIrecore player is removed
- no Plex
- Thumbnails are on network storage

ATV2 4.4.2 (downgraded from 5.2.1)
XBMC 12.1 Git:201303171-0d373cc

media: 4TB Western Digital USB connected to Airport Extreme via Ethernet, afp-protocol

4.4.2 is only a tethered jailbreak - thats why you need a computer whenever you plug the power to boot it again. no need to redo the jailbreak - you only need to boot tethered for getting it up and running again... (google the keywords).

Ok, thanks! However, something's still wrong with the ethernet connection. Can't figure out what it is.

Edit: It's not only via ethernet, problem happens when connected via WiFi as well. As soon as I cut the connection to the Airport Express, XBMC boots up.

Changing curl client timeout from 45 to 10 in the advancedsettings solved the problem.

<curlclienttimeout>10</curlclienttimeout>
