re-touched skin, need help to change it back to the default skin
#1
I accidentally downloaded re-touched skin on my apple TV v2 and I didn't know you needed a mouse or a touch screen. Now it’s hard to navigate with the apple TV remote. On the XBMC main menu I cannot press the settings button so I can’t change it back to the default skin. What should I do?

Try deleting your guisettings.xml (wiki) file in your userdata (wiki) directory and then restarting XBMC.

See this SSH (wiki) wiki article. Although it refers to XBMCbuntu, the concept is the same for connecting to a system via SSH and issuing commands to it.

Hi there I am having problems switching this skin back to default too. On Aeon Nox I disabled mouse support and was unaware that if I change over that the settings would carry over; it did. So now I can't navigate with the arrow keys nor my mouse. I have tried going into the XBMC folder but alas there is no guisettings.xml nor skin folder. If anyone can help me out I would appreaciate it.

Look in your hidden folders.

I tried to change skin to simplicity and now I can't access anything in the XBMC. It kicks me out every time I go into settings. How do I change it back? I am new at this so don't assume that I have any Idea what I am doing.

As Aartrafael said above, delete the 'guisettings.xml' file in your 'userdata' folder. For its location see:

Well, it's very difficult to get there if you don't have SSH connection (because it's turned off for example) and keyboard and mouse are not working........Sad
I've exactly the same problem now.
I really don't get it, why al the other forms of navigation are disabled.....
