Cachemembuffersize issues.
#1
My wireless adapter in my HTPC likes to crap out for a few seconds every now and then and it's enough to cause XBMC to have to pause my video and wait until it can continue streaming. I've tried setting cachemembuffersize to 0, or something ridiculous (like 500 megabytes) but XBMC doesn't seem to be bothering to buffer any meaningful amount of video even though I have plenty of bandwidth. The problem is just as bad with standard definition video as it is with high bitrate 1080p video. The problem doesn't occur over a hard wire but I don't like having cat6 cables running across the halway in my apartment. Anyone have any idea why cachemembuffersize doesn't seem to be doing what everyone says it should be doing?

cachemembuffersize only applies to streams, stuff like YouTube, which is streamed from online.

There has been some discussions about changing this to be an option which can apply universally, some details are here on what's proposed.
