Has anyone else ever seen a problem where subtitles come out mangled to look like little boxes?
(Yeah I'm a narutard, sue me...)
I am a new XBMC user so I can't tell if this is a new issue. I have been happily watching all my subtitled anime with no problems. These are files containing subtitle streams, not hardsubs.
For several files I have, the subtitles are being mangled into these little boxes. If I play the file with DivX Plus Player the subtitles on my laptop, they are okay. I tried telling XBMC to override any fonts specified in the subtitles, but it didn't fix it. I am quite certain I have played other MKVs with subtitles and they worked normally.
My setup is as follows:
- XBMC 12.1 Frodo
- Windows XP Media Center Edition
- No subtitle add-ons, just XBMC defaults
The video file information:
- H.264
- MKV file format
- AAC audio
I don't currently have any tools that can extract the subtitle streams so I have no info about what's in there.
