Win Library refresh/update on startup using a NAS
#1
Hello :-)

I'm a very satisfied XBMC user (Win 8, Acer Revo RL 70, latest official XBMC build) but there's one thing that bugs me.

Everytime when XBMC is booted up and i start browsing my media (Movies & TV Shows) I have to manually refresh the library to see the newest content on my NAS (Synology using sickBeard + sabNZBd).

I've tried XBMC Library Auto Update without success and the integrated options are also not working properly.

How can i fix that? Smile

Working great for me, please describe what it is thats not working properly?
I have it setup so that when I boot it does an initial scan then I have XBMC Library Auto Update to scan every 3 hour after that.

There is no initial refresh/scan after the startup. Maybe i got some settings wrong?

This setting is already checked. My guess is that the SMB fileshare (Synology NAS) is not immediately available? Is this possible?

Maybe if you upload a log we can see if it tries to start to scan but is unable because share is not accessible? Im no expert in interpreting the log but I can give it a shot..

here is my Debug Log http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=10634

As far as i can see the problem could be:

16:04:54 T:2792 WARNING: VIDEO::CVideoInfoScanner:Tonguerocess directory 'smb://DISKSTATION/Serien/Boardwalk Empire/' does not exist - skipping scan.

Try this:
Disable the native scan in xbmc settings system > video > Update library on startup
Go to system > addons > program addons > xbmc library auto update > set startup delay to 1 minute (experiment with the value)
