When I list my video files in not library mode, and my files have not been scrapped, i would like to avoid xbmc to generate video thumbnails of each file. Only to increase perfomance on my Raspberry pi.

Is it possible to turn this off?

Yes. There's a setting in Settings->Video to turn this off IIRC (something about extract information from video files).
