librtmp - Help Thread
(2015-02-12, 04:35)Milhouse Wrote: I'm not sure if this means you have no plans for future OpenELEC compatible librtmp builds - my test builds are fine if you're into testing (and running a Pi), but separate librtmp.so.1 builds would be handy for users that want to remain on the official stock OpenELEC builds.

im still going to build for official builds, im still waiting ($$$) to buy a Pi to work on Wink
Not only Pi but also like i do now for droid win nix86/64 the one that i think im not going to build it OSx and iOS... i dont like it Tongue
Sorry, just for clarity.

Users of Helix openelec on the pi can no longer use the guide to update the librtmp ?

However we can use either Millhouses testbuilds, or If we want to use stock builds we will would need to re-compile and insert a new librtmp at root.

Is this right ?
To be clear: The library update procedure still works perfectly for OpenELEC Helix, it's the librtmp library itself that is no longer compatible (last working librtmp version is from Aug 2014, by RP).

If you are able to "re-compile and insert a new librtmp at root" then you could use that same librtmp with the library hack, no need to modify the OpenELEC squashfs/image.

However, until a compatible librtmp library file becomes available, the test builds are the only option.

Just backup the old file and test the new file from Superceleron.

Superceleron, any luck with SPMC without changing the libcurl file ?
Have you already tried the NDK 10d ?

Hi Mabs,
The new lib supports the K command or tcommand?

Answer: Working In Kodi 'ccomand'
100 % noob who doesn't understand what this change does, but I can't watch live RTMP streams, and it seems that I need to replace my librtmp.so.0 file. Problem I have is that I keep getting permission denied when I try.
Raspbmc
Latest Stable Kodi
I have tried copying it over using the file manager in Raspbmc, and I can't change, rename, or delete the old file.
I assume that there is just a read only permission that I need to change, but have no idea where to find it to change it.
Also have tried to transfer from my computer with PSCP and PuTTY, and also get permission denied.
Trying to edit the file in /opt/xbmc-bcm/xbmc-bin/lib/xbmc/system/

Sorry if this is a stupidity issue on my part, or if this has been answered somewhere else before, but I haven't found it.

Any help is appreciated
@Shani
Kodi with new librtmp working fine. But I am wondering if there is a way to use librtmp for Gotham ?
I think it works for both Gotham and Helix!
I'm trying to replace the librtmp on my Ubuntu install. I found librtmp.so.1 in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu. I assome that this is the correct file to replace, and not librtmp.so.0, which does not exist on my system.

Also, I could not access the link to get the latest files at http://www.mediafire.com/?x4cvp5hl4m9xr. I get "an error occurred while retrieving the folder" message, and no files are displayed.

Rename so.0 to so.1 and replace Smile

Thanks, it worked.
Hi guys,
is there a non-launcher Spmc apk with latest librtmp available?
Thanks.
SPMC 14.1.0 (ARM) No-Launcher With "LibRTMP from Superceleron and Shani-08 (02.02.2015)"

Code:
http://www.mediafire.com/?x4yyktfujpr9jb7/

Two files were changed from original SPMC:
- librtmp.so (from superceleron and shani-8)
and
- libcurl.so (from Kodi 14.1 original apk),

thx superceleron and of course: Thank you koying for your great work.

(APK altered by me. Tested working.)
Thanks Mabs!
Hi everyone. I too cannot access the RedPenguin's repo link to get the latest librtmp file for Windows at http://www.mediafire.com/?x4cvp5hl4m9xr. I get "an error occurred while retrieving the folder" message, and no files are displayed.

Anyone know if this will be back up or where I may please obtain the latest version of the compiled librtmp for Windows? Thank you very much for your time.

Best Regards,
DataCrypt
DataCrypt, there isn't any problem with RedPenguin's repo link. But his Windows newest lib is from last October... are you sure that's what you want?
Try to search a bit and you will find your answer.

Its always a good practice to read a few pages back on any topic you post.
