Hi there, I don't really understand how xbmc databases are populated, on my end they just stay empty.
My guess and what I would want is a parsing of the paths specified in sources.xml, but it just does not happend. Can I trigger that with some python code ?
Any clue appreciated !

OP: i think you need to check your DB permissions if they dont get populated...
i would be really curious about this also. in my search for a headless xbmc install to keep my libraries (multiple users) uptodate from my always on server instead of clients, i have found no real solution without hacking xbmc source, or waiting for someone else to do so.
if we could get a script that reads (each users') sources.xml and populates any new entries into the mysql db, that would be perfect. I could try to start on the basics, but i have no clue how the build in process works, or if its easy to get a code snippet from it to at least get a starting point.
