Personally, I am fond of the VRC-1100 (wiki). It is inexpensive and is seen by the system as just a keyboard, which makes it easy to (re)map buttons to various XBMC actions/functions. It's sold under various brand names and is readily available on-line. Click the link above to see how it looks.
