Sorry if this has been asked before but this old Newbie couldn't find anything.
I have a Seagate GoFlex Home 3TB as my NAS. My PC is running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. I have the DirecTV HR24/100 DVR with the DirecTV Cinema Connect / Media Deck wireless network box. My network is 802.11N wireless.
When I try to add files to TVersity, I keep getting an error message the source is not available. The one time I got a file to play, I also got an error the frame rate was to high (using a m4v file).
My question are these.
1) What sort of hoops will I need to jump thru to add media to XBMC from the NAS?
2) Will XBMC work with the above TV hardware?
3) Any other tips or tricks for a newbie?
Thank you.
PS - This is the first site that gives a clue as to what file format to use for backing up videos onto hard drives.
