Hello,

a question about tvheadend and PVR recording.

I have a tvheadend with 2 double tuner sat cards. Can I record and look to TV on my HTPC at the same time, on different transponders ?
Or do I need to record on a different XBMC station (portable for example) and look at my HTPC?

Yes you can watch and record on two different channels if you have two tuners.

Even on one tuner you should be able to record one channel and watch another if they are on the same mux.

This depends on the tuner hardware and TVHeadend settings.

The tuner hardware needs to be able to receive the full mux and not only the sub-mux for a tuned service (channel). Furthermore the setting for full mux reception within TVHeadend must be enabled. Image below…
