Interesting another thread mentions Matricom GBox MX2 does not support 1080p output and has problems streaming.

How much do you want to bet Matricom are waiting for xbmc.org developers, and Pivos to fix it for them first, so they can take the credit themselves?

This fork is commercially supported, which means real development effort is being put into this amazing software to better the product.
When you purchase an authentic Matricom product, you are fueling our developers to make this product and all future products better...

When will be the day that Matricom contributes to public developer repositories?
When will be the day that Matricom does not strip out the open source licence from its source code?

This means it's one Matricom employee lurking the forums to take credit for the communities development. When you purchase a Matricom product, you're fueling their company to produce new non working boxes that run just as crappy as their last 4 devices. They literally support none of their products and if the community quit developing for them for free they'd go out of business quick.

I dunno if I can agree with it totally. On their website they've got a pretty active bug tracking thing going on with the mx2. Unless it's all smoke and screens it definitely looks like theyre supporting this product....

Im a consumer and my opinion takes into consideration the money I've spent on this and all these android boxes that Ive bought over time. I dont really care much about who does what or how it gets done as long as it works. What I want is a product that actually works and has updates and support and stuff that applies to me as the customer that purchased it. Their first midnight was a nightmare at FIRST but thanks the community it turned out decent. End result I was a happy customer. Im just glad to see that I bought something again that really 'appears' to be going somewhere. I guess we'll see in time and if theres any future updates.

The new MX2 highlights all of the features that made the original Midnight so popular but now pushes beyond that limit by offering the more powerful dual core Amlogic A9 MX processor teamed with a dual core Mali-400 GPU to deliver 1080p HD and 3D incredibly smoothly while handling Android like nobody's business. Furthermore it has 8 gigs of internal storage which is double the former device's amount. One new unique feature is over-the-air updating which will keep every MX2 up to date with the latest firmware and XBMC releases from Matricom. "Android TV Boxes have the reputation of being enthusiast only devices. We're making a bold attempt to turn this technology into a consumer ready product. Over-the-air updating is a necessity to keep the software updated on the device without requiring the consumer to have a full working knowledge of how to update their system. The idea is to have a system that 'just works'. This updating process is not new to Android devices such as phones, however it is revolutionary to the Android TV Box industry and opens the device up to everybody and makes updating more convenient than ever."
