Windows 7 - video is choppy unless I run at 24p, but then audio is bad
#1
I'm running Win7 on:
AMD A8-3870
ASRock A55M-HVS

Denon AVR-2113ci
Panasonic VT50
Audio devices set to use WSAPI

I was having a problem with HD video (720p+) seeming choppy and stuttering. I fixed the problem by enabling "Adjust Display Refresh rate" and "Sync playback to display".

With this setup, HD video worked fine. Anything else (e.g. 480p AVI's), however had a significant problem with audio - it wasn't in sync with the video, and there was lots of popping. I tried all the A/V Sync methods, but no luck.

So I can either get something watchable for HD videos, or non hd videos but not both. Any ideas? Is there a way to force XBMC to use external codecs like ffdshow/haali?

I noticed the thread about 24p and audio sync, and read through it, but no one really seems to have a working solution.[/b]
