I was wondering if <applydrc> under the <audio> tag in advancedsettings.xml still did something in Frodo? And if so, is drc applied in audio-only-files, or does it also have an effect on video files?

Reason I ask is because I've played with it a little, but can't really seem to hear any discernable difference between settings.

I don't think XBMC has any DRC controls in the current version, besides the amplification slider in audio OSD.
