XBMC Fullscreen = Black screen * Edited
#1
Hi,

When I use XBMC for playing .mkv files, the fullscreen mode is totally black. If I close fullscreen, I can see the file running in the background, behind the menu, the bar, the lists, etc, but that kinda ruins the experience. I can play most .avi files flawlessly. Any idea on what to do?

I'm running windows 7 and have ATI Mobility Radeon HD5650, and I connected my labtop to my TV. It doesn't work either way.

I have tried to turn true fullscreen on/off, but no help. I tried updating XBMC, no help. I tried running a windowed version, but no help.

Tell me if you need more info Smile

Edit 1: I tried the debugging tool and pasted into pastebin: http://pastebin.com/x09uWmk4

I also tried reinstalling, and turning off the refresh rate to fit movie thing, but no help.

Some suggestions there. I'm not really sure what the trick is myself (I'm a mac user, anyways).

Thank you, Ned

I solved the problem by disabling the "Allow Hardware Acceleration (DXVA2)" in XBMC - one of the suggestions in the thread.

Thx again.
