what box I can run XBMC on
#1
I bought Apple TV 3 so I thought I can Jailbreak it and install XBMC.

I found out that there is not JB yet for ATV3.

So I am going to return it and get return for that ATV3 junk.

is there any other option I have other than PC?

Thanks

Yes there are other options, The Pivos Xios DS http://www.pivosgroup.com/xios.html look in the bottom right of that page. The Raspberry Pi is also popular with hobbyists and many swear by the ATV1 & 2 Check out the hardware forum on this board and note some of the other alternatives. Quite a few developers recommend the Mac mini as one of the best formats for XBMC and the up coming (in weeks) is the Ouya which combines a game machine and media player http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=154499 developed under kickstarter funding. I prefer a no compromising XBMC with all the bells & whistles and run a full fledged PC and besides; I just so happen to already own one Smile

I second the Mac Mini, but you'll have to understand that in general XBMC is a work in progress. Both windows and OSX have some issues (osx is plagued by audio issues, windows has issues with suspend and not supporting the apple remote for starters). There are fewer devs for OSX, and in my experience they're less responsive (even if you post debug logs of an issue, etc).

However, the OSX on a mac mini does have a lot of nice features which I think put it above the windows install.

I have not yet tried running *nix on the mini, though from what I've been told the late 2012 mini has a bunch of issues.

I just realized I have macbook at home just sitting there.

I am sure I can use that to install XBMC on it and use with slick apple remote.
