Just wondering how well the apple tv 1 can play video from streaming movies online through xbmc? Also does anyone know if there is a fan in the apple tv 1/does it make any noise?

Install linux and a
BCHD (wiki) and it will handle just about everything you can throw at it. It does have a fan, but it's pretty much dead silent. See

I run 3 of them and prefer it over the Apple TV version 2 - seems to just run so much smoother on the 1. I have 2 running from the harddrive and 1 running from a USB stick.
